Popular Chinese influencer Li Ziqi returns to YouTube after a three-year hiatus

Popular Chinese influencer Li Ziqi returns to YoutTube after a three-year hiatus on the platform.

The content creator is well-known for her serene videos of her idyllic life in the Sichuan province of southwest China. Her videos, which are incredibly detailed, feature Li working on her farm, making intricate handicrafts, and preparing traditional cuisine from scratch.

It didn’t take long for her to garner a huge audience both domestically and internationally. With more than 20 million subscribers to her YouTube channel, the influencer has become the most popular Chinese-language influencer on the platform.

Li last posted on social media on November 14, 2021, and then abruptly stopped using it altogether after allegedly getting involved in a contract disagreement with her agency.

Earlier this week, Li unexpectedly reappeared with three videos, as abruptly as she had left the platform.

Her latest upload now currently has 9.1 million views and 579,000 likes on YouTube as of this writing.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts about the influencer’s return.

Between 2015 and 2016, Li, whose real name is Li Jiajia, became popular as her picturesque cooking videos were discovered by people in China and other countries.

She began sharing videos of various parts of her life, such as growing mushrooms, creating peach blossom crowns, drying persimmons by hanging them up, collecting crops, and even embroidering a piece of clothing using traditional Chinese techniques.

Her videos were reassuring to audiences and avid viewers since they seemed to depict a simpler and happier life.

Fans yearned for the simplicty of life she presented, despite some viewers criticizing her for an overly romanticized picture of country living.

Li ceased posting videos in the middle of 2021 due to an unspecified disagreement with her agency, Hangzhou Weinian Brand Management. Li did not release any videos until her most recent upload on her YouTube page, despite reports that the two parties struck a deal at the end of 2022.
