Turn your messy room into a ‘fancy virtual space’ with these Zoom backgrounds

With the rise of web-based video conferencing tools, interacting with your boss and other colleagues has never been easier, especially in times like this. But when it comes to attending these virtual meetings, no matter how comfortable you are at home, you still need to look presentable and have at least a decent background.

Luckily, you no longer have to always tidy up your room every time your client or boss shoots an invite. California-based company Zoom, per se, has a virtual background feature that lets users temporarily hide what’s going on behind them—whether it’s a pet running around or a mountain of dirty clothes. But just in case you want to be extra while on a video call, there are sites that you can actually check out for more backgrounds.

The list, which originally appeared on The Verge, mentioned that Canva (yes, your go-to site for templates) offers free animated backgrounds if you want to add some fun to your virtual meetings.

Next on the list is Unsplash, a website known for having a massive library of free and high-definition photos. And if you’re searching for a Zoom background that suits your style and personality, this Quebec-based website surely has one for you.

If you want to impress your coworkers with your pop culture-inspired virtual teleconferencing room, then you may want to check out Modsy’s “reimagined spaces.” Apart from the iconic Friends apartment, they also have Sex and the City and Gilmore Girls‘ themed background.

Now, you don’t have to worry about your cat suddenly jumping out of nowhere or your children randomly entering the room. With just a few clicks (and faster internet connection), you can immediately conceal whatever is happening in the background.
