Filipinos get creative with Ayala Museum’s #ArtFromHome challenge amid quarantine

One Makati museum is inspiring creativity online at a time when Filipinos across the country are under quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayala Museum launched today, March 19, the #ArtFromHome challenge, where art prompts will be released every other day on its website for 30 days.

The museum posted coloring sheets of its historical dioramas for the first challenge and encouraged followers to “color it however way you want, using any medium you want.”

Its own staff used media such as paint and colored pencils.

Twitter users such as @0tter_otter opted to go digital and used an app to color in an illustration of Ifugao people building the rice terraces.

One @jengtheawesome brought vibrant colors to a picture of the Chinese trade.

Ayala Museum has been closed for renovations since June 2019. It has been holding pop-up exhibitions in other venues in the metro and launched a YouTube channel in May 2019 to feature its art and ethnographic collections. JB
