WATCH: Fitness trainer leads group workout from rooftop during COVID-19 lockdown

A fitness trainer led a group workout from a rooftop in an apartment building in Spain, making sure his neighbors stay active during the ongoing lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The residents stayed in their balconies while they followed the instructions from the coach named Gonzalo. Sano Sevilla Los Bermejales, the gym he works for, posted a clip of the session on Instagram last Saturday, March 14.

“This is how @gonzalo_gbroto is passing the time with his neighbors. This is the spirit of Sano Sevilla Los Bermejales,” the fitness center said in Spanish, as per NBC’s “Today” on March 16. “Despite such adverse circumstances, we’re going to get the best out of you.”

The four clips showed the neighbors and Gonzalo doing squats, jumping jacks and reverse lunges while upbeat music played in the background.

Gonzalo arranged the group workout for the residents through WhatsApp, Luis Javier, a manager at the fitness center, told the news program.

The exercise session now seems to be a daily event in the said complex, as the manager said that it is something the neighbors look forward to every day.

“It is a healthy idea, which helps people feel much better and face the situation in Spain in a positive way,” he was quoted as saying.

The video has since gone viral with over 7,000 views, as of this writing. JB
