This year, UP APSM presents “Dalubbanwahan 3.0: Revisiting the State.” It will be held on NOVEMBER 16, 2019 (SATURDAY), 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in UP Diliman.
This year’s seminar will delve into the intricacies of ‘state’ as a concept, usually used interchangeably with the terms ‘nation’ and ‘government.’ The event’s objectives are: (1) to introduce different approaches or perspectives in defining ‘state,’ (2) to explain each key feature of a state, (3) to describe how the Philippines historically evolved as a state, and (4) to analyze relevant issues concerning the Philippine sovereignty in the 21st century.
The event speakers are Assistant Professor Dennis V. Blanco, DPA; Professor Temario C. Rivera, PhD; and Associate Professor Herman Joseph S. Kraft, MA. There is also a special video presentation from Professor Miriam Coronel Ferrer, MA.
