Local marching band Banda San Jose brings to life Rosé and Bruno Mars’ ‘APT.’

A night of music, talent, and dedication was brought to life by the local marching band Banda San Jose, who presented a pop-up show celebrating the works of Blackpink Rosé and Bruno Mars.

Powered by Warner Music Philippines, the 30-piece brass band lit up the Bonifacio High Street grounds on Saturday, December 21, as they performed the recent collaboration between Rosé and Mars, “APT.”

“APT.” is the chart-topping track by the Blackpink member and the “Just The Way You Are” hitmaker, and the lead single of the former’s studio album, “Rosie.”

The song saw immediate commercial success, debuting at number one on several streaming charts. It also won numerous awards on South Korean music programs, with Rosé and Mars receiving the Global Sensation award at the recently concluded 2024 MAMA Awards.

Until now, “APT.”‘s catchy, formulaic, and upbeat tune, and lyricism continues to dominate the world as various artists and musicians make their own renditions of the song. A case in point was the version performed by Banda San Jose, adding a unique charm to Rosé and Mars’ track.

Aside from “APT.,” the local marching band also serenaded the crowd with a performance of two songs from Rosé’s recent 12-track project, “Rosie”: “number one girl” and “toxic till the end.”

The band also performed some of Mars’ greatest hits, including “Just The Way You Are,” “Versace on the Floor,” “Locked Out of Heaven,” and “Uptown Funk.”

The night ended with a bang as fireworks lit up the sky over the BGC grounds, dazzling the crowd with not only the colorful display but also the talent showcased by the Banda San Jose and Rosé and Mars’ musicality.

The “APT.”-themed pop-up show was presented by Warner Music Philippines.
