Girl in a jacket

Here’s a rundown of the newest cast members of ‘Rak of Aegis’ Season 7

The musical phenomenon, “Rak of Aegis” is back on its seventh season and will run from July 5 to September 29, 2019, at the PETA Theater in Quezon City. The story follows the life of Aileen—a simple girl living in a flood-prone area called Barangay Venizia—who dreams of fame and fortune.

The success of the hit musical is supported and co-presented by the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), the PhilPop MusicFest Foundation (PhilPop), and the Philippine Educational Theatre Association. Bringing in a timely story about Filipino spirit and resilience, the Pinoy musical also introduces its new cast members along with OPM artists.

Noel Cabangon

Aside from being a multi-awarded singer-songwriter and an active member and artist-teacher of PETA, Noel Cabangon is also known for his best-selling albums such as “Byahe”, “Panaginip”, “Tuloy Ang Byahe”, “Acoustic Noel”, and “Throwback: Songbuk ng Apo,” to name a few. Cabangon plays the role of Aileen’s father named “Kiel”, who works as a shoemaker. He believes that the cause of flooding comes from their neighboring subdivision, Villa Arkadia.

Randy Santiago

Known for his classic hits, “Babaero”, “Paikot-ikot”, and “Damdaming Para Sa’yo,” Randy Santiago takes the role of Fernan. Santiago was a musical talent, member of the La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) Glee Club and DLSU Chorale, and even became the male lead singer of Manila’s Top 80s Band.

Bayang Barrios and Jenine Desiderio

Barrios and Desiderio perform as Mary Jane in the musical. The two prominent actresses were both multi-awarded in the musical scene. Barrios won local awards and international recognitions in Vietnam and known for her song “Malayo Man, Malapit Din”.  While Desiderio gained popularity when she played “Kim” in “Miss Saigon” in the Theatre Royal Drury Lane (1989-1993).

Moreover, Derrick Monasterio (Tolits), Kimberly Baluzo (Aileen), Leah Patricio (Mercy), Yumi Lacsamana, Ashe Uy, Marynor, Madamesila, Lemuel Silvestre, and Gerard Dy (ensemble) will join the latest season of the Rak of Aegis.
