The New Frontier Theater was once again filled with K-Pop fans as the leading man of the Korean Drama “Are You Human,Too?” Seo Kang Joon charmed his fans in a special fan meeting last May 25, 2019.
Here a rundown of what happened during the event:
On trying Filipino dishes
During Seo Kang Joon’s first visit here in the Philippines, he expressed interest in trying a variety of Filipino food. He told the crowd he got to taste dishes like Ilocos Empanada, which he said was too sour because the vinegar was too strong. He also tried Lechon Baboy which he considers to be his favorite since he tried it twice. And he also enjoyed our local dessert, Leche Flan.
Onstage, he excited fans by making his own glass of Sago’t Gulaman. In fact, fans even had the chance to taste the drink with him. Of course, they went wild–but unfortunately, there were only two available slots for fans to share the stage with Seo Kang Joon.
He also played games with his fan base like Snack Attack, Key To My Heart, and Ring Toss–all of which made the audience roar in excitement. Seriously, who wouldn’t want to play games with him? It’s literally your only chance to hug, stare, shake hands, and get a signed cd from Seo Kang Joon!
On his latest projects
Regarding his newest projects, Seo Kang Joon admits that “Are You Human, Too?” was memorable for him because he always wanted to portray two personas in one show. It was also an added benefit that this particular Korean drama presented a good storyline. According to Seo Kang Joon, he had to study more about Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prepare for the show.
He also teased fans about his other series “The Third Charm,” a drama which he thinks everyone could relate to.
When asked if he’d be interested in doing a local film, he said he’s open to working with Filipino actors as he mentioned that many Koreans have been watching Filipino films on Netflix.
On his performance during the fan meeting
Seo Kang Joon didn’t disappoint fans as he effortlessly performed his single “You Are My Love,” a cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” and “Falling Slowly” by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.
