For more than 80 years, the UP Student Catholic Action Diliman (UPSCA Diliman) has been focused on the formation of truly Filipino Christian communities founded on truth, freedom, justice, and love. This drive, rooted in the Catholic faith, has empowered, inspired, and driven its members and alumni towards reaching out to the so-called ‘least, lost and last’.
Along with its regular faith discussions, socio-cultural events, and iimmersion programs (such as the Barriowork and Institutional Visits), the organization also hosts an annual thanksgiving event to celebrate another school year coming to an end. This event is called Papuri and has been a staple event for UPSCA.
This year’s Papuri, entitled Paraluman: Bayanihan para sa Kababaihan, aims to reach out to the young women taking up residence at the Manila Girls’ Home located inside the Manila Boystown Complex in Parang, Marikina City. The girls have reached the home carrying different stories but they all share the same need: to have a place to call home and people who will shape them to be strong and independent women who can contribute to society once they leave the institution.
The members of UPSCA will be sharing songs, skits, dance, and a meal with the ladies on April 28, 2018 from 1 to 4 pm.
Papuri 2018 will not be possible without the help of the following sponsors:
