Every year, a new shade is announced by the Pantone Color Institute to be the “Pantone Color of the Year” — its purpose is to showcase and convey the mood of our culture today and in the coming year. As Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman explains in their website, “The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today,”
This 2017, the color assigned by the institute was Pantone 15-0343 Greenery. Then just this December, it was announced that the official Pantone Color for 2018 will be the striking hue of Pantone 18-3838 Ultra-Violet!
Described as complex and contemplative, Ultra-violet is the color that’s said to peer into the vast mysteries and intrigue brought about by the universe. “From exploring new technologies and the greater galaxy to artistic expression and spiritual reflection, intuitive Ultra-violet lights the way to what is yet to come,” Eiseman explains.
What better way to express your eagerness to venture into the unknown mysteries of 2018 than by wearing Ultra-violet in your clothing and accessories!
