Actor John Arcilla shares his take on the Jennings-Racal drama, supporters and critics weigh in

Veteran actor John Arcilla shared his thoughts on the ongoing issue between actors Anthony Jennings and Maris Racal, mentioning that one ‘kolokoy’ took advantage of the situation.

In a Facebook post on December 5, the actor expressed that he couldn’t bear to read all the screenshots posted by Jennings’ former girlfriend, feeling shame. He also pointed out that reading the screenshots doesn’t necessarily mean they are wrong.

In his post, he never mentioned any names but shared his conspiracy as to how he sees the depth of the situation.

ITO LANG ANG HINDI KO MAINTINDIHAN: Bakit hindi Binura? May mali eh. Anong Pakay? Parang may plano, parang may Hindi magandang balak [This is the only thing I don’t understand: Why wasn’t it deleted? There’s something wrong. What’s the intention? It feels like there’s a plan, like there’s a bad intention.]” he wrote.

He also added that the motive was in the fine line of exposing and gaslighting the other parties.

Parang mayroong laro eh [We’ve all gone through our teenage years, but I just don’t get it—while you’re torturing your girlfriend because you gave her access to your phone, on the other hand, you’re exposing something or planning to blackmail another woman? It feels like it’s in the middle of exposing and pretending to gaslight. It’s like there’s some game going on.],” the veteran actor added.

Meanwhile, social media users had split opinions about Arcilla’s take on the whole situation.

“Correct. Trophy lang yun para sa kanya. It’s impossible na gagawa ka ng kalokohan tas papahuli ka sa napaka daling way, [That’s just a trophy for him. It’s impossible to do something wrong and get caught in such an easy way.]” one comment on the Facebook post said.

While social media users on Facebook agree with the actor’s sentiment, X (formerly known as Twitter) users had a different understanding of the post.

“Wait no for real. There’s seriously no need to post those especially knowing they have an upcoming series/movie(?). I’m not invalidating her but this would’ve been better if they dealt with it privately. Its obvi posted to ruin someone’s source of income ,” one X user said.

Another social media user said, “This is what I’m talking about sa lahat. Makikita mo na si A puro tulak ke M. I’m not on Maris’ side pero wala talaga balls si guy para panindigan katangahan nya. Napakaredflag  [This is what I mean by everything. You’ll see that A keeps pushing M. I’m not on Maris’ side, but the guy really doesn’t have the guts to stand by his stupidity. It’s such a red flag.]”

However, X users also pointed out that once again, it was Jennings’ former girlfriend who became the target of attacks from social media users.

Pretty sure it’s anthony whose john arcilla is dragging. bakit si jam suddenly and villain sa narrative ng qts? [Pretty sure it’s Anthony that John Arcilla is dragging. Why is Jam suddenly the villain in the narrative of QTS?]” an X user said.

One person also pointed out that Arcilla’s post isn’t aimed at Jennings’ ex-partner, but rather at him. They noted that Racal is the one bearing the brunt of the situation, while Jennings isn’t being called out in the same way as the former.

Later today, Arcilla made another post after Racal released a statement, reiterating that the public really has nothing to do with the issue.

“Gusto ko sana sabihin patawarin na natin sila, pero wala naman tayo sa posisyon para gawin yun dahil wala naman tayong KAILANGAN PATAWARIN SA KANILANG TATLO DAHIL WALA NAMAN SILANG NAGING KASALANAN SA ATIN [I would like to say we should forgive them, but we’re not in a position to do so because none of the three owe us an apology, as they haven’t wronged us],” he wrote.
