In this trend, “random” people are giving “advice” to their own demographic, only to “accidentally” reveal that they are the would-be beneficiary of the message.

On-screen text sets the mood for this creative, humorous style, which typically begins with the user making an apparently sincere tip or request for change. However halfway through, the camera turns, showing the speaker’s hidden agenda and the fact that they are the one receiving their own “advice.”
Social media users and several celebrities quickly began to jump in on this trend in inventive ways.
A user on TikTok is somewhat making a plea to everyone to normalise certain things with her text overlay that reads, “can we normalise accepting that big sisters know everything and should be fed chocolate 24 hours”.
Another TikTok user went on a Star Wars route writing, “Cut them some slack, it’s totally normal to have bad aim.”
Singer-songwriter also came on board with his entry writing “Tiktok listen up let’s go easy on Ed Sheeran he’s an okay bloke.”
Actor Taylor Launtner jumped in the train by revealing who Bella should have ended up with writing, “Honestly screw Edward Bella should have ended up with Jacob.”
