Chappell Roan responds to Billboard’s story regarding parting ways with her management

Chappell Roan recently made headlines when she addressed Billboard’s allegations that she had parted ways with her State of the Art management team after a successful year.

To promote the article, Billboard posted a picture of the singer on Instagram with the caption, “Chappell Roan has split with her management team, sources confirm to Billboard. The news comes after the breakout star scored her first slate of Grammy nominations, including in all of the Big Four categories.”

“Roan’s nods were notably left off a congratulatory post shared from the Instagram account for State Of the Art — the company Roan was previously signed to, with Nick Bobetsky as her manager,” they continued.

The singer then took to the comments section of the popular news outlet’s page responding to their post and wrote, “Yall suck for this.”

According to the initial Billboard report, the pop star had parted with State of the Art who has managed her for six years and her manager Nick Bobetsky.

She joined the company in 2018, and Bobetsky was a huge admirer of Roan, whose actual name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz.

Her manager previously told Billboard of Chappell, who has received Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Best New Artist, among other awards, that “her immense talent was clear immediately.”

Last month, there were rumors circulating that she was leaving her management after Roan received criticism for her remarks on the U.S. elections and her last minute decision to cancel her appearance at the All Things Go festival.

“Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it,” Roan said in a statement posted on her Instagram Stories. “I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health. I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible. Thank you for understanding.”

Apart from the social media exchange with Billboard, neither Chappell Roan nor State of the Art have made any comments regarding the separation.
