A woman went viral after showing her bizarre croissant lamp that was bought from Temu, an online store that currently has billions of users.
In a video posted on her TikTok account, Neta Murphy, who goes by the username @froginahatgirl, revealed that she received the said croissant lamp as a gift from one of her sisters. The surface of the item appeared to be structurally damaged, as there is a tiny hole on the lamp.
After a scorching day at work, she was left in shock with her disgusting discovery upon her return and said, “I came home from work after a hot day and there were like, hundreds of ants underneath it. I was like, ‘Why the f–k would ants want a fake croissant?’. And like, I’m almost wondering if this is a f—ing literal, real, croissant.”
Naturally, Murphy thought it was odd that ants were all over the object. The lamp was only shaped like a food item, so there would be no reason for them to be gathered around it.
Much to her curiosity, she wondered how the lamp managed to get shipped a long way if it’s likely edible and upon scanning the item, she then revealed that it was “covered in resin.”
The object appeared to be a flaky pastry on the inside when she eventually cracked it open and displayed it to her followers. Crumbs fell out as she poked it. She broke it off a bit and took a tiny bite, deciding that the only way to know for sure if the lamp was, in fact, a croissant coated in varnish was to taste it.
Social media users were also left confused and took to social media to share their thoughts about the croissant lamp.

Since the posting of the video on TikTok, it already has amassed over 13 million views.
As of this writing, Temu has not issued an official statement yet outlining the manufacturing process for the lamps.
