Filipino NCTzens enjoy ‘better than gold’ moments at NCT Dream’s ‘The Dream Show 3’ in Manila

NCT Dream, the third sub-unit of the Korean boy band NCT, wrapped up their Asia tour with an unforgettable finale in Manila. The 2024 NCT Dream World Tour concluded with a two-day concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on August 10 and 11, 2024.

The Manila stop marked the end of their Asian leg, making it a particularly memorable event for PH NCTzens. The concert featured Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, Haechan, Chenle, and Jisung, though Renjun was notably absent due to health issues, as announced by Live Nation Philippines on July 12.

Renjun’s absence was announced in the latter part of the tour, prior to their first concert in Seoul in May 2024. This echoed past instances where Manila fans had not yet experienced a full 7Dream lineup. During their first world tour, Mark was unable to join the Manila dates due to scheduling conflicts. In their second tour, Chenle was absent from Manila because of health concerns. As a result, the Manila crowd had yet to experience the complete NCT Dream lineup.

The concert was filled with interactive segments where the members engaged with fans and reflected on their journey through their third-world tour. Chenle expressed his joy at returning to Manila after missing the second tour.

The concert also featured VCRs showing all seven members in pre-concert preparations, highlighting their commitment to a complete experience. Fans made sure Renjun was not forgotten. During the encore stage, while performing “ANL,” fans created a yellow ocean during his part in the song “ANL” during the encore. This heartfelt tribute commemorated one of NCT Dream’s main vocalists and demonstrated the fans’ deep connection and support.

As the concert came to a close, the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to Jaemin and Mark, who celebrated their birthdays around the tour dates. Jaemin turned 24 on August 13, and Mark recently turned 25.

NCT Dream promised to return and deliver a complete 7Dream experience in the future. In their Instagram post, the group shared their gratitude: “Mga NCTzens, finally natapos na ang Asia tour namin!!! Sobrang saya namin lahat at ang Manila ang huling show namin! at dahil dito sobrang saya ng mga oras na pinagsamahan nating lahat. Sana magkita tayo muli sa lalong madaling panahon! Patuloy niyo abangan ang DREAM SHOW 3!! [NCTzens, we’ve finally completed our Asia tour!!! We’re all so happy, and Manila was our last show! Because of this, we cherish the time we spent together. We hope to see you again soon! Keep an eye out for DREAM SHOW 3!!]”
