Earlier in May, there was speculation that American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift would play the role of Dazzler, a mutant who shares the same musical background as Swift who can bend and manipulate light. She admitted before in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that she wanted to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Because the music video of ‘All Too Well’ was allegedly shot in the same location where “Deadpool” and “Wolverine” were recorded, fans theorized that Swift was dropping a hint of her affiliation with MCU because of her reputation of leaving out crumbs for fans to piece together in her artistic crafts.
Swift together with her boyfriend Travis Kelce were spotted last October watching NFL games together with the Deadpool and Wolverine main characters, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Canadian director Shawn Levy.
So, is Swift really in or not in the upcoming “Deadpool” and “Wolverine” movie?
Amidst the high hopes of Swifites to finally see Taylor Swift in an MCU movie, Canadian film director Shawn Levy finally revealed that she is not featured in the movie.
“I regret that I was not quicker to shut it down the first time, so I’m going to default to my very true situation, which is as much as we love each other, the fear of death is so intense in me regarding Ryan and how he desperately wants to avoid talking about all of these proliferating rumors,” Levy stated on an interview in April.
Ryan Reynolds who will play Deadpool mentioned in an interview with Fandango in May that dishonesty is not in their “cards.”
“Movies like this, there’s so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film. I saw one that was convinced Elvis was in the movie,”
He also added, “Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”
Swift may not be featured in the new movie, but MCU fans will welcome back returning cast members: Morena Baccarin who played Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind AI, Brianna Hildebrand as Bear, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Lewis Tan as Shatterstar.
Deadpool and Wolverine will premiere on July 26.
