In an interview with IGN, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently revealed the long-anticipated release window for “Grand Theft Auto VI” (GTA 6), setting its release for fall of 2025 .
Addressing the anticipation surrounding the game’s development timeline, Zelnick expressed utmost confidence in meeting this deadline. “We do feel highly confident that we’ll deliver [Grand Theft Auto VI] in the fall of 2025,” he affirmed, acknowledging the curiosity and assumptions circulating among fans.
Since its initial revelation in December, when Rockstar Games excited the gaming community with a teaser video on YouTube, supporters and games alike have patiently awaited any scrap of information. More than the glimpses into its setting—a contemporary incarnation of Leonida, a fictionalized version of Florida—and the revelation of characters like Lucia, details have remained scarce, especially regarding its launch date.
Zelnick’s assurance signals a commitment from Take-Two and Rockstar Games to satisfy their dedicated fan base by diligently pushing forward with development, aiming for completion by approximately September of the following year.
Reports suggest that “Grand Theft Auto 6” will debut exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no immediate plans yet for a PC version.
