Filipino NCTzens divided over Lucas’ fan meeting announcement in the PH

ICYMI: Lucas will be heading to the Philippines for his very first fancon tour in Asia starting April.

The news was announced by SM Entertainment on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, just days after the company also officially announced Lucas’ solo debut. The fan-concert, titled “Fiat Lux: 熙”is set to begin on April 13, 2024, in Hong Kong, and will go through the Asian cities Jakarta, Taipei, and Manila by mid-June.

More cities and dates will be added soon, as said by SM Entertainment.

Lucas, a former member of the groups NCT and WayV, will kickstart his solo career on April 1, 2024, with his 1st single, “Renegade.” His solo debut was already implied and rumored when he was seen attending events of his fellow artists, such as Ten’s solo debut showcase, SHINee’s Key’s solo concert, and even attending the “SMTown Live 2024 – SMCU Palace @Tokyo.”

His sudden appearances at these events made sense when SM Entertainment later on released a 2-part documentary surrounding Lucas’ hiatus and preparation for his solo activities titled, “Freeze” and “Unfreeze.”

Upon the announcement of Lucas’ fan-concert tour, Lumis were undoubtedly ecstatic about it. Fans also called out Lucas’ haters and said that the hate comments have gone on for way too long.

On the other side of things, NCTzens, WayZenNies, and other K-Pop fandoms weren’t impressed with the turn of events. They either expressed their disgust, disinterest, and also compared how other SM artists and groups are being treated while someone who had admitted to the accusations being thrown at them is getting some sort of favoritism.

Filipino K-pop fandoms also made connections about the current political climate in the country.

Are Lumis in the right for still supporting their fave Lucas, or are the NCTzens, WayZenNies, and other K-Pop fandoms right for calling out the preferential treatment and the irony of it all?
