Olivia, one of our favorite internet-famous corgis, has crossed the rainbow bridge.
In a very emotional video uploaded on November 8 by Chris Equale, the furdad of Olivia, the beloved corgi from the famous duo “Hammy & Olivia,” announced Olivia’s passing at the age of 8 due to kidney-related issues.
“Olivia passed away last night. There was an emergency and she couldn’t empty her kidneys. We didn’t want her to suffer. She passed in peace,” the owner said in the video.
“We’re crushed. She was my best friend. If you have a pet, please give it a big hug. It is a day you always know is coming but you are never prepared for it,” he added.
Olivia is known for her comedic videos alongside her brother Hammy and her owners, bringing a lot of joy to her fans with her playful interactions. The duo rose to fame in 2020, and Olivia’s back-and-forth conversations with her brother became a hallmark of their content.
With her sudden death, some of her supporters took to social media to express their condolences and their grief.
One user wrote, “I’m in tears right now. That beautiful pup brought so much joy to so many people. I hope Hammy is OK, missing his sweet sister. She’ll be waiting for all of you over the rainbow bridge.”
“You all gave Olivia such a wonderful life, that’s all we as pet owners can hope to do for our fur babies, knowing they are never around long enough. I am so very sorry and devastated for all of you. You have this entire Hammy & Olivia community to lean on, we will be mourning right along with you. Much love and prayers to all of you,” another user wrote.
Another user wrote, “Omg this is absolutely devastating!!! My heart is broken for you guys. I just have absolutely no words. 💔💔💔💔💔Lifting you all up! Olivia…I pray you’re frapping in paradise in all your glory.”
