BTS’ Jungkook channels inner Michael Jackson in latest MV for his single, ‘Standing Next to You’

The “golden maknae” of K-pop has entered his “golden” era.

Last November 3, Jungkook finally released his solo debut album entitled “Golden.” Along with the release of his album, the music video for his title track, ‘Standing Next To You’ was also launched and has been receiving an amazing response from the audience. In the video, Jungkook paid tribute to music icon Michael Jackson.

The K-pop idol also showcased his remarkable dance skills as he paid homage to the late Michael Jackson.

“Golden” is his debut solo album which he has been preparing for a long time. The album has 11 tracks, showcasing collaborations with well-known artists such as Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, DJ Snake, and Major Lazer to name a few.

In the music video, the BTS member is seen wearing devil wings, a nod to BTS’ Blood Sweat and Tears music video. It also had a striking resemblance to the band’s “Black Swan” MV.

The K-pop idol revealed in an interview that he initially did not like the track. He said, “Let me tell you when I first heard this song. After Andrew and I finished recording Seven, he played this song again. I wasn’t immediately drawn to the song, but there was a grandeur to it when I heard it.”

“There was no choreography or performance at this point. But when I realized that it would be really cool to do something onstage I just kind of came up with these drawings. So, I think it’s a very appropriate song for the title of this Golden album,” he added.

Since the release of the music video, it has already garnered 22 million views and currently trending at #2 on music on YouTube. His album is number 1 on the “Top Albums Debut Global” on Spotify.
