The highly anticipated “Dear Heart The Concert Series,” featuring the reunion of the iconic love team of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, took place on October 27, 2023, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Love and nostalgia filled the entire venue, as the whole event and remarkable performances showed that the magic that made them a beloved on-screen couple in the 1980s is still alive.
Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, known for their on-screen chemistry, were not only celebrated for their ‘reel’ partnership but also for their past real-life romance. They drew a star-studded audience, including celebrities such as Coco Martin with Julia Montes, Rocco Nacino, Angel Aquino, Zsa Zsa Padilla with Conrad Onglao, Shaina Magdayao, Cherry Pie Picache, Bong Revilla Jr. with Lani Mercado, and John Estrada with Priscilla Meirelles.
The concert kicked off with a heartfelt video tribute that featured messages from the duo’s family members, friends, and colleagues who shared their stories of Sharon and Gabby’s journey. It highlighted their humble beginnings and rise to stardom. Sharon then again took the stage alongside Ogie Alcasid, Eric Santos, and Jeremy Glinoga, and they delivered a powerful performance with songs like “Maging Sino Ka Man,” “Kahit Konting Pagtingin,” “Pangako Sayo,” “Bituing Walang Ningning,” “Pangarap na Bituin,” “Ngayon at Kailanman,” and “Sana’y Wala ng Wakas.”
The highlight of the evening was the long-awaited reunion of Sharon and Gabby on stage, as they serenaded the audience with emotional renditions of “Pati Ba Pintig Ng Puso,” “Bakit Ikaw Parin,” “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako,” and “Dear Heart.”
The duo, along with their daughter KC Concepcion, united for a heartwarming family moment, performing “Ikaw” and “You Are the Sunshine of My Life.”
KC gracefully exited the stage, leaving Sharon and Gabby to rekindle their on-screen magic with renditions of “Tayong Dalawa” and “Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko.”
As the concert neared its end, the audience was treated to an unexpected encore, featuring songs like “Tonight I Celebrate My Love,” “Maybe,” and “Come What May.”
