Your Mima has spoken!
Content creator Sassa Gurl posted a statement via TikTok, in which she spoke out about the current issues that certain influencers are facing today.
The video starts with her reminding other content creators that the popularity that they have is very powerful so they have to be responsible for how they use their platform.
“Huwag natin tatraydorin ang mga nanonood sa atin sa pagkakalat ng fake news at false information [Let us not betray those who are watching us by spreading fake news and false information],” the influencer said.

People were quick to jump in the comment section, agreeing with her sentiments.
Sassa did not mention the reason why she posted the video, but it’s giving a slight jab to the issue revolving around Maggie Wilson.
Just to refresh everyone’s memory, Maggie Wilson posted a series of screenshots on her Instagram Stories last September 26. The snaps show the alleged script TikTok content creators used to run as a smear campaign against her and her lifestyle company, Acasa Manila. The beauty queen plans to take things to court against the people having these accusations but promises to spare those who would cooperate.
Back in 2021, POP! was able to interview Sassa Gurl where she gave her thoughts on the influencer landscape.
She said, “Most of the time kasi, karamihan ng mga influencer may manager naman. Feeling ko ang nagiging way nalang nila talaga kung paano maging engaging is parang maging problematic at feel ko hinahayaan ng mga management nila yun so parang alam mo yun naging marketing strategy nila so very wrong. [Most of the time, most influencers have managers. I feel like their approach to become engaging is by being problematic, and I believe their management allows it. So, it’s as if it has become their marketing strategy, which is very wrong.]”
“It speaks volumes sa isang personality ng isang tao na, I don’t wanna judge na you don’t have talent and all kasi we all have talent pero kung tamad kang influencer gusto mo maging problematic ka nalang kasi madali ka makipagengage sa ganung eksena. You have responsibility din naman kahit papano kahit konti lang followers mo [It speaks volumes about a person’s personality. I don’t want to judge that some of them don’t have talent and all, because we all have talents. But if you’re a lazy influencer, you may lean towards being problematic because it’s easier to engage in such scenarios. You still bear responsibility, even if you have just a few followers],” the influencer added.
