Known for his hit-drama series, Reply 1997, South Korean actor and singer-songwriter Seo In Guk finally met his Filipino Heartriders (Seo In Guk’s fans) last August 12, 2023, at the New Frontier Theater for his first-ever Asian Fan Meeting Tour here in Manila. Fans from all around the world flew all the way here to the Philippines to show their unconditional love and support for their favorite idol.

To start off his fan meeting, Seo In Guk serenades his fans with one of his songs, ‘MY LOVE’.
One thing that Filipino Heartriders admire about him is that he cares for his fans so much. When the first segment of his fan meet was about to start, it was supposed to be a seat-down interview but since he can’t see his fans from the first row because of the monitor, he said that he wants to stand up all throughout the interview so he can see his fans. He then greeted his fans with a cute and sweet Filipino phrase, “Kumusta na kayo, mga bebe ko?” and “Namiss niyo ba ako?” that made the theater filled with screams and kilig!
Fans get to know him more with the Q&A portion with questions: “Who is Seo In Guk when alone?”, he then answered that he’s cute and sexy at the same time. The South Korean actor and singer-songwriter also expressed what he felt backstage hearing all the screams for him and he even got more energy the moment he stepped out on the stage to perform.
Seo In Guk also mentioned that he is currently preparing for his new series “Death Game” and a new album, and looks forward to coming back soon. He also shared that he wants to be a director and is currently trying to do a short film at the moment but right now, the actor wants to focus on his upcoming series and album.
When asked about his ultimate goal as an actor, since it’s been 14 years since his debut, he wants to be a singer-actor for a long run and to be loved for a long time to the point that his teeth have all fallen out.
Seo In Guk once again sang for his fans with Cafe Minamdang’s OST ‘I like you’ and ‘Tease Me’ from his 2012 Perfect Fit album and other songs ‘BeBe’ and ‘Love U’.
‘Welcome to Cafe Minamdang – Manila Branch’, “Which concern should I listen to first?” said Seo In Guk. He is known in the said drama for his scams and disguises himself as a fortune teller and runs a fortune teller shop Minamdang. In this segment, he will give pieces of advice to the lucky fans that will be chosen on the concern board on stage. He doesn’t really like giving advice since everyone who asks for advice won’t even listen to him and just do whatever they want.
One touching story from this segment is when a fan who was not asking for advice but informed Seo In Guk that his dramas and songs helped her survive med school and what made the actor impressed is that this fan is now an actual doctor.
When asked how to overcome burnout feeling, In Guk recommended trying things out of their comfort zone. He likes gaming so what he does is to spend time playing and buying game-related stuff to make himself feel better. He also said thanks to his fan that even though she was going through a burnout phase, she still managed to come and cheer for him that night.
Ending the segment, Seo In Guk reminded his fans to do whatever they want to do.
To hype up the crowd once again, he performed ‘Shake It Up’ and right after the performance, his co-actors such as Kwon So Hyun, Kang Mi-ma, and Oh Yeon-So appeared on screen to give him messages.
One of the highlights of the show is when Seo In Guk sang a Filipino hit song, ‘Ikaw’ by Yeng Constantino which made Filipino Heartriders appreciate him for his effort in learning and performing the song. The song made him remember the time when he was still in Superstar-K, a talent show where he won back in 2009.
To show appreciation for Filipino Heartriders’ effort in dressing up, Seo In Guk’s Choice Awards picked 5 lucky fans that have the best style and he actually selected a variety of fans from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and guess who won? No other than our Filipino Heartrider representative that slayed the night and got picked by the one and only Seo In Guk!
On another segment called Seo In Guk’s Food Truck, he tried making his version of Halo-halo. His ‘purple halo-halo’ consists of ice, nata, ice, ube, ube ice cream, milk, and ice! It kinda looks yummy, not gonna lie. The actor tried it first and assured everyone that it was very delicious.
Lucky fans are picked once again to join a fun segment called Seo In Guk vs. Heartriders, a roulette will choose what activity to do with their favorite idol. The activity includes a 10-second boyfriend challenge, drama reenactment, TikTok Challenge, and more.
Heartriders prepared a very heartwarming video fan project for Seo In Guk that made him so happy and touched. After the video, he mentioned that he’s really not emotional and doesn’t cry that much but the Filipino Heartrider’s video fan project made him tear up and touched his heart and said that he’s very grateful for his fans.
To end his 3-hour long fan meeting, fans went back to 1997 feels with his final song, All For You, Reply 1997’s hit OST.
Seo In Guk did not just capture his Filipino Heartrider’s heart that night, he also captured other casual viewers who weren’t fully aware of who he is. His charm made everyone’s heart flutter and became a memorable night.
