NCT LAB is back to cook some more good releases from the NCT members themselves!
Following the release of Mark’s “Golden Hour” last April 7, 2023, Jaehyun is the next member to release his new solo track, “Horizon,” as part of SM STATION’s “NCT LAB” project.
Last August 2, 2023, SM Entertainment and NCT announced a line-up of their upcoming releases under the “NCT LAB” project—beginning with Jaehyun, followed by Taeil and Haechan, then a solo from Kun, and a quartet with Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun, and Chenle. The past and upcoming releases have also been confirmed to be compiled later on as a compilation album.
“Horizon” is Jaehyun’s second solo song under the NCT LAB project, succeeding “Forever Only” which had been released on August 18, 2022. Jaehyun’s newest song is described as a “romantic R&B track with a jazzy rose keyboard, rhythmic guitar riff sound and fluttering beats and melody lines.”
Jaehyun participated in composing and writing the song’s lyrics. He had said that he was inspired to write “Horizon” after seeing a plane take off “on a day like no other.”
NCTzens and Valentines (his solo fandom) were mesmerized and fell in love with Jaehyun’s new image and music video, which sees him walking around in the Italian city of Florence, on a boat ride on the sea, and in grassy areas. They also praised Jaehyun’s prowess in the R&B genre.
