Ever since Kathryn Bernardo announced her new films, “A Very Good Girl,” and “Elena 1944,” last March 27, everyone just kept looking forward to details regarding it. But since it was revealed that “A Very Good Girl” is set to premiere this 2023, all eyes are on it, especially because it is a team-up between her and BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee actress Dolly de Leon.
“A Very Good Girl” is a dark comedy film directed by Petersen Vargas and written by Marionne Dominique Mancol that tells the story of two self-made women and follows them as they navigate their lives. De Leon shares that her character as Molly is a powerful multi-billionaire businesswoman who encounters Philo, character played by Bernardo, throughout her journey as a successful businesswoman.
Filming began last June 6. Bernardo shared through an Instagram post a photo of herself behind a clapperboard while on set. Last July 28, Bernardo announced that “A Very Good Girl” has wrapped up filming. Through an Instagram reel, the actress provided clips of the team’s celebration.
Bernardo and de Leon will be joined by many familiar actors and stars like Angel Aquino, Chie Filomeno, Gillian Vicencio, Kaori Oinuma, Ana Abad Santos, and Jake Ejercito. They will be playing the roles of Conchita, Zab, Joenna, Rigel, Gene, and Charles, respectively. Part of the cast was also Donna Cariaga as Karen, Althea Ruedas as Mercy, Nathania Guerrero as Lovely, and Nour Hooshmand as Alma. The exciting lineup and dynamic each actor provides bring an extra layer of intrigue to what we can expect from the film.
Fans are teased by the snippets Bernardo makes, especially since she started her TikTok account. Her first post on the lato-lato earrings makes us wonder which scene we will be seeing it from. She also hopped on the “Killing Me Softly” TikTok challenge with de Leon! I guess, we can expect some really good fits from the film based on that video. Remember the viral vape video of Bernardo? It turns out to be another spoiler from the movie.

The highly-anticipated “A Very Good Girl” released its first teaser trailer last Friday, August 4. The movie will be available in cinemas nationwide this September.
