New and final season of ‘Sex Education’ is finally coming on September 21

The coming-of-age series Sex Education will premiere its fourth and final season on September 21.

The announcement comes with a 1-minute teaser of the upcoming season showing the cast in a new environment.

The final installment will follow the story of Otis (Butterfield) and Eric (Gatwa) after the closure of Moordale Secondary and into their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College – where Otis opens up his new clinic as a sex and relationship therapist.

Along with Asa Butterfield and Ncuti Gatwa, other returning casts are Emma Mackey, Gillian Anderson, Aimee-Lou Wood, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Jim Howick, and Daniel Ings.

Notable casts like Rakhee Thakhar, Tanya Reynolds, Patricia Allison, and Simon Ashley won’t be returning for the final season.

As such, the series will welcome a new set of casts including Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham, Lisa McGrillis, Marie Reuther, Jodie Turner-Smith, Eshaan Akbar, Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Reda Elazouar, Bella Maclean, and Imani Yahshua.

Creator of the series Laurie Nunn bid farewell to the series by posting a message on Instagram, where she shared their journey of writing the story of the series and the decision to make the fourth season the final installment of the show.

“We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast, and crew who put so much heart into making every episode. They have worked tirelessly to bring you this final season, and we can’t wait to so share it with you,” Nunn wrote. “Goodbyes are the worst, but let’s celebrate all the good times we’ve had.”
