YouTuber and philanthropist Jimmy Donaldson, famously known as MrBeast, purchased almost $2 million worth of properties for himself, his family, and employees to live in.
According to a report, there are a total of 5 modest and separate homes bought by the 25-year-old located on a cul-de-sac in the southern suburbs of Greenville, North Carolina.
In 2018, MrBeast purchased the first property when it went for sale for about $320,000, making it his own home.
He then continued to buy the other properties surrounding the first one, paying more than usual, except for the second property, for which he paid $263,000 in 2020, for his family and employees.
There is only one remaining house in the street that has not been bought by MrBeast because the family who owns it is holding out.
According to Aaron Bowden, one of the house owners who sold their house to MrBeast, “My understanding is the folks who are holding out is similar to any reason why would anyone would have held out — it’s the best school districts in the area, and they have kids in school,” he said.
He added, “I wouldn’t know anything for a fact because I don’t walk in their shoes, but they may change their minds when their kids are out of high school and off to college.”
Whether it is for productivity or convenience, the reasons why MrBeast purchased the properties for his family and employees have not been told.
However, this is not new for the content creator. MrBeast, who has the 4th most subscribed YouTube channel and the 1st for individuals with over 152 million subscribers, is known for expensive stunts and philanthropic works.
His other channel, Beast Philanthropy, is focused on giving 100% of the profits from his ad revenue, merchandise sales, and sponsorships toward his philanthropic works, including building houses for homeless families and giving to charities.
