It seems like mukbanger Nikocado Avocado is on a mission to lose weight

The self-proclaimed ‘King of Mukbangs,’ Nicholas Perry (known as Nikocado Avocado), is making noise on the internet again after a drastic weight loss transformation.

In his latest video last April 25, he shared that he has lost a whopping 89 pounds (which is 40kg, btw), and that’s a feat!

The 29-year-old started his YouTube journey way back in 2014, back then, his videos were of his vegan lifestyle and violin performances.

He became much known when he started doing mukbangs in 2016, where he eats large amounts of food in front of the camera – gaining him more than 7 million subscribers and approximately 1.8 billion views on all 6 of his YouTube channels.

However, this comes at a cost, from weighing 150 pounds when he started, the YouTuber gained weight and reported to have peaked at over 300 pounds over the course of his career – where he has shared that he is struggling with food addiction and binge-eating disorder.

In 2021, Nikocado revealed to his viewers that he is classified as a disabled person, and he rides a mobility scooter. He was also seen wearing a CPAP mask, a device to help you breathe while you sleep, in some of his videos.

Many people criticized him for “eating to his death” when he constantly posted videos of him still eating large amounts of food with the title, “My New Life/Diet As A Disabled Person,” – which also causes controversy after loosely using the term ‘Disabled’ for his titles.

Perry has also opened up about his mental health issues and is the center of several controversies with fellow YouTubers, accusing him of abusive behavior. However, many people believe that he is using these controversies to benefit the viewership of his channel.

But enough of the negativities! For now, let’s hope that Nikocado sticks with using his influence to promote a healthy lifestyle and let his journey expose the perils of encouraging and promoting poor eating habits.
