K-stans react online after BTS’ Jungkook asks fans to stop sending food deliveries

Fans of BTS member Jungkook appealed online to respect the singer’s privacy after he opened up on May 4 about the anonymous food deliveries that he has received.

May 4, Jungkook posted on Weverse app (artist-fan communication platform), asking his fans to stop sending him food.

Jungkook's Weverse post
Translated statement:

“Don’t send home food delivery. I won’t eat it even if you gave it to me,” the singer wrote. “I’m thankful, but I eat well. You can buy it yourself. I beg you.”

The Korean singer also said in his post that he would take action if he continues receiving food deliveries.

Various phrases such as “LEAVE HIM ALONE” and “RESPECT HIS PRIVACY” became trending topics on Twitter as the fans of the Korean idol conveyed their concerns following his Weverse post.

They urged the sasaeng fans, a term referring to obsessed fans who do not consider the private lives of their idols, to respect the privacy of the BTS member. Below are some tweets of the fans:

Some fans are wishing that the Korean idol will take action already. “Jungkook please take actions [sic]. This is beyond creepy and is definitely going way far at this point,” a fan tweeted.

“I need Jungkook to take action right now. I love that he’s a nice and sweet person but there needs to be something done about this that unfortunately a post won’t be able to do,” another fan said.

At the same time, many fans are also urging Big Hit Music to take actions to protect the privacy and safety of the singer. What happened recently was not the first time the singer’s privacy got invaded.

A similar situation happened to the Korean singer last March. It can be remembered that Jungkook previously conveyed his concern during a Weverse Live as there were fans that followed him to the gym where he was working out.
