Tina Carzon announces ‘skin to skin (feat. Adobo & Nicky Wood)’

Manila-born and now based in Maryland, R&B/Neo-soul singer-songwriter, Tina Carzon announces their new upcoming single, ‘skin to skin’, which will be released on April 21st at 12 AM EST. This feel-good track is one of Tina’s first curated collaborations with Adobo and Nicky Wood, along with Leif’s mix-and-mastering magic. The song’s lucid and sensual lyrics reel the audience in with Tina’s layers of vocals and harmonies that almost feels limitless, along with Adobo’s collected thoughts through his unique rap flow, and Nicky Wood’s cool bossa nova chords and flangers.

‘Skin to skin’ is only a sneak peek of Tina Carzon’s upcoming project to be announced later on. What makes this track unique is its use of 808s, electronic snares, a jazz guitar, vintage keys, and some mysterious bells that sound like it was perfectly made for the horror movie, ‘Annabelle,’ which makes for a sensational bossa nova feel but still keeping that R&B theme to it. The track highlights themes of an intergalactic and cosmic realm, however, it’s no doubt that it is a song that makes you want to dance even with its risqué lyrics.

Tina has been slowly but surely trying to get back to music as they have actually been performing at multiple sold out Sofar Sounds shows within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. In fact, they were recently featured on Sofar Sounds’ YouTube channel, which has about 1.36 million subscribers.

Tina grew up from a musically inclined family and has always had the passion and ears for music. They are self-taught in guitar, piano, and now bass, growing up from their parents’ influence. Tina has been making music since 2015 and released their first EP called ‘As I Reminisce’ via Soundcloud in 2016. However, they didn’t necessarily know whether they were going to pursue music as a career back then, as they only saw it as a “hobby.” The instrumentals and beats from their first EP were actually just beats that they found browsing through the Internet, with careful research in terms of music licensing, even though it was put out for free listening. Eventually, Tina decided to create their own sounds from scratch because they found out that someone had used the same beat that they found and deemed it “unoriginal.” By April 2019, Tina released their first self-composed, written, and produced album with the help of Nicolas Laget, Leif, and Robbie McDonald – on all streaming platforms. As an independent musician and multifaceted artist, they realized that they spent so much time and money on the album itself, and often questioned whether they should eventually pursue music as a career. Once the pandemic hit in the beginning of 2020, Tina took a break from music and released two singles within a span of two years. It wasn’t until last year that Tina felt drawn back to the music realm when everything started to open back up and realized that it’s not just a “hobby.” Tina has yet to become a full-time musician, but in an ideal world – it’s undoubtedly one of their biggest dreams, passion, and purpose.

Skin to Skin

‘Skin to skin’ is a song about the intimacy between mutually exclusive mysterious lovers who might be fixated on each other, but not entirely. It hasn’t been revealed whether this is coming from personal experience or just a story that came up in conversations with other people while cooking up in the studio. Who knows? Find out on April 21st and listen for yourself. The pre-save link is now available.
