UP Broadcasters’ Guild kickstarts week-long 24th year anniversary celebration with advocacy-driven events

Celebrating its 24th year anniversary, The UP Broadcasters’ Guild launches “Atin ang Kwento,” a week-long celebration filled with fun events that forward their advocacies.

UP Broadcasters’ Guild 24th Anniversary

The UP Broadcasters’ Guild is the first socio-civic organization in the College of Mass Communication, University of the Philippines-Diliman. Their main goals are to promote media education in student activities with the purpose of community development and to advocate freedom of the press through the responsible use of mass communication.

They kick off their celebration on April 25 (Tuesday) by bringing back Ice Cream Day, a student-community pakain. All afternoon, members of the organization will be handing out free ice cream to passersby as a way to give back to the community and to share their advocacies and initiatives.

On April 27 (Thursday), UP Broadcasters’ Guild’s Media Revolution, an annual forum focusing on media-related issues, will take place. With the title, “Not Your AI-dentity: A Roundtable Talk Show on the Ethical Dilemmas Arising from Emergent Artificial Intelligence (AI),” this year’s Media Revolution will focus the discussion on current developments in emergent Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. They will cover AI’s implications on ethics and how this interacts with the academe, art, and media. Event starts at 4 PM at the CMC Auditorium and is open to everyone. You may pre-register through this link: https://tinyurl.com/MediaRev2023.
