Here’s proof that AI is really getting good at its game

So, did everyone see that photo of Pope Francis decked out in more drip than you could ever imagine?

It’s just too creative and ‘unreal’ for the highest official of the Catholic Church to be wearing a white puffer coat for “papal drip.” And yet, many were fooled.

Yes, it really isn’t real. The image was generated through the AI image-generating app MidJourney. American Internet vlogger and personality Hank Green created a poll on his Twitter to see who thought that the image was real, fake, and wasn’t sure, and according to his poll (which he answered himself), 48.1% said that they thought the image was real, 23.3% said it was fake, 19% said that they weren’t sure, and the remaining 9.6% were those who had just wanted to see the results.

Reactions to the AI image were filled with just pure surprise. Others really hoped it was real, and tbh, we probably all did.

While it really does seem amazing that an artificial intelligence created this whole viral look of the Pope, it does give a reason why people should be a little cautious on the Internet, since it’s so easy to generate images, audio clips, and even videos out of anyone (celebs included). AI’s really out to fool every single one of us and even though it may be a little entertaining to see this play out at first, wait till AI beats everyone in the game.
