To sum this whole issue up even without talking about it beforehand, our main takeaways from this is that the Philippines suffers from a gradually worsening reading comprehension, and that others do have trouble in organizing their thoughts first before putting whatever they want on social media. SO, we’re very sure that you’re aware of how bad our bicycle lanes are in the metro, and that you’ve seen the discourse behind Inka Magnaye’s “hot” take on the bike lane issue all over Twitter. Everyone who’s seen it has probably shared their own two cents on the “issue”, and we’ve seen a variety of stances regarding the person who “called” her out and the entirety of it.

From what we have gathered ever since this “issue” first blew up was that the person that called out Inka Magnaye pointed out nothing; meaning, they only brewed up a problem without any context. They only posted a screenshot of Inka’s comment with the caption, “Inka Magnaye with a sh** take. Never thought I’d see the day. LMAO”.
The original Tweet can’t be linked to the article because the user had turned their profile to private. The same user commented again on Inka Magnaye’s clarification regarding her comment, which fueled even more people to comment on how user was being driven by hate and was doing nothing to solve the problem. Which, to be honest, can just sound like a typical troll on the Internet.
At the same time, we can’t ignore how Inka Magnaye’s comments on issues can often times be said “at the heat of the moment”. Meaning, even if her perspective is in the right, her manner of organizing her thoughts could use a little more work.

Going back to this issue of a non-issue which stemmed from a discourse on bike lanes in the Philippines, we can gather that both sides have faults. These faults definitely highlight (on a general level) what our habits on social media are and how we’re most often than not compelled to create mountains out of mole hills for no apparent reason.
Yes, we can all have a peaceful discourse about different topics, but there is also no need to encourage the already toxic culture of trolling on the Internet and for people to show *clears throat* how bad one’s reading comprehension skills are.
