Breakout Pop Sensation vaultboy reveals new EP ‘this is what i get’

Multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer vaultboy has revealed his sophomore EP ‘this is what i get’, a record that perfectly showcases his penchant for writing lyrics that hit listeners right in the feels.

vaultboy shares, “My new EP ‘this is what i get’ is a themed collection of stories that all lend themselves to the consequences of choice. Good and bad, my choices lead me into and through a bad mental state and a better one, getting into situationships and over them, and even the thrill of a spooky evening with someone special – I am my greatest downfall and champion.

Earlier singles from the EP, “ghost stories”, “i wish u knew” and “why you gotta be like that (feat. Nightly)” have already garnered over 5 million streams in a few short months since their release dates.

vaultboy’s talent for songwriting has been winning millions of hearts across the globe over the last year. Navigating matters of the heart through his music with perfect poise, his talent for witty and relatable lyricism has not gone unnoticed.

In January of this year, vaultboy released his self-titled debut EP to global acclaim where the five track body of work saw an impressive introduction to vaultboy’s knack for flawless and catchy alt pop. His debut single “everything sucks” entered the Spotify Global Charts at #1, staying there for almost two full weeks as well as Spotify’s Viral Charts in 37 countries across the world.

Since vaultboy’s debut in 2021, he has made an incredible impact globally, racking up over 300 million streams in one year and is now servicing over 5.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

His storming debut was especially evident across Asia, where he steamrolled into the Top 5 of Viral Charts in Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. “everything sucks” also entered top radio stations across the region, eventually landing on Asia Pop 40 (aired on 96 radio stations across APAC) with the music video added to rotation on TV channels like Vh1 India, MTV Asia, Music TV (Indonesia) and VERY TV (Thailand). Currently, his Top 15 Streaming Markets worldwide include India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Born and bred in Jacksonville, Florida, he first began experimenting with music at High School and he has been honing his skills ever since. After joining TikTok at the end of 2020 he found the platform to be the perfect match for his clever, quick ability to write songs and engage an audience which now sits at 1.4 million followers. With no signs of slowing down on his meteoric rise, vaultboy is certainly an artist to continue keeping an eye on.
