Leanne and Naara launches duo’s first Filipino track, ‘Unan’

Indie pop duo Leanne and Naara recently held an intimate launch party for the release of their first Filipino track “Unan” (Pillow), attended by select media representatives and fans of the duo.

The duo, well known for their interesting and delicately written English tracks, decided that it was time to debut their first Filipino song after realizing that “Unan” has hit all their songwriting check marks.

It hadn’t been all that easy for the two to start writing songs in Filipino, recalling previous attempts and their issues with proper pronunciations. The duo stated that there was a bit of frustration when it came to how words should be said and sung.

However, in the end, they managed to create a good song with a good recall–about “longing for someone” and “wishing they were beside you instead”. Inspired by city pop vibes and layered with vibrant drum sounds and a tasteful harmony of synths and beats plus the duo’s bright and playful vocal melodies, “Unan” is the perfect track when you want to unwind, reminisce, or just have a moment all to yourself.

Leanne and Naara stated that they have some more songs in the works and that fans should “expect more to come”.
