Adam Levine denies having an affair but considers it to be merely ‘crossing the line’

It’s no news that Adam Levine has been on the hot seat since an Instagram model divulged their one-year alleged affair through a TikTok video that now has 22.5M viewsrevealing how the Maroon 5 frontman is asking for permission if he can name the child that he and his wife are expecting, after her.

People online felt disgusted, to say the least.

News spread like wildfire after a certain TikTok user named @Sumner Stroh made a confession on September 19, Monday, saying, “I was having an affair with a man who’s married to a Victoria’s Secret Model,” in a TikTok video with all the screengrabbed receipts of her conversations with Levine via his verified Instagram account.

Stroh mentioned in the video that despite knowing the consequences and stereotypes of coming forward with her story, she felt compelled to do so after finding out that some of her “friends”, to whom she sent the same screengrabs to, attempted to sell the story to the tabloids.

The “apology”

The day after his cheating scandal became the talk of the town, Levine, 43, posted his official response on his Instagram stories claiming that he “did not have an affair” and only “crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life”.

Shortly after, Stroh also posted on her Instagram stories that people assume was a response to Levine’s “apology”, saying  “Someone get this man a dictionary”.

The public’s verdict

In a follow-up Tiktok video, the Instagram model clarified that she was under the impression that Levine and Prinsloo’s marriage was over and was only “quiet to avoid the negative press because I was new to LA, so I just assumed with celebrities of that caliber that that’s just how it was,” she said.

Given that the 43-year-old singer-songwriter’s relationship and marriage with Victoria’s Secret angel, Behati Prinsloo, is not in any way private, and are even expecting their third child as per Prinsloo’s recent post on Instagram, one would expect that Levine would at least get the majority of the flak and worst remarks from the public for still mingling like he was some hormonal high school teen.

Although some did, many were calling out Stroh much more, making it seem that this whole debacle is a venn diagram pinning a VS Angel from an “Instagram trash” to prove a point.

While it is true that it takes two to tango given that Stroh was not exactly in denial of her participation, saying that she was “naive” and “manipulated”. This cheating scandal is not about weighing someone’s appearance to say who does and does not deserve to be cheated on. Levine is married, with kids, and is old enough to know that asking if he can name his child from someone he’s cheating on his wife with, is not simply crossing the line.

Call out and get people accountable for what they actually did that matters.

Celebrities also publicized their differing opinions over the cheating scandal.

While actress Sarah Foster expressed her disbelief over Levine’s denial and Stroh’s “manipulated” statement, model and activist Emily Ratajkowski, who recently filed a divorce from her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard due to cheating claims, debunked Foster’s statement and believes that Stroh was indeed a victim.

Crossing more than one line

It did not take long after Stroh’s confession for more women to come forward.

A woman named Alyson Rose also claimed in a now-deleted post, to be in a similar situation but more recently,  where Levine is seemingly engaging in inappropriate banter last January 2022, unlike with Stroh’s which happened last 2021.

Another woman named Maryka on Instagram, also posted proofs of the singer’s flirty conversations with her. When she asked Levine about his marriage, the singer blatantly said “it’s a bit complicated”.

Response from Behati

Although there’s still no official statement from Behati Prinsloo, Levine’s wife, the two were photographed together in Montecito, California, on Wednesday after the scandal blew up online.
