‘One Piece’ has a 21,000-page book with all volumes in it and it’s massive

Every single issue of the iconic fantasy-action manga and anime One Piece has been compiled into one giant book that combines 25 years’ worth of chapters that costs almost $2000.

It is considered more of a collector’s item rather than an actual book because of its size of about 4.5 x 7 x 31.5 inches and weight of about 36 pounds.

The artwork is titled “One Piece” and is made by Ilan Manouach, a French artist who specializes in creating pieces on post-digital comics. He is also known for creating “Shapereader” which is a system for people with visual disabilities who want to be able to read comics.

According to Manouach on his website, One Piece can only be contemplated as a “materialization of digital comics’ very own media-saturated and that it only exists as an object of pure speculation.”

An article from French news site Actualitte also reported that the One Piece book was on display for public viewing at the Fiminco Foundation in Romainville, Paris, France during the Multiple Art Days fair over the weekend.

It is billed as the largest book in the world and is also signed by Ilan Manouach himself and comes with its own case that shows off the spine’s artwork featuring various classic moments from the manga in full color.

Written by Eiichiro Oda, the original manga debuted in 1997 and now has around 103 volumes. It is considered by anime fans as the best representation of stories to arrive out of weekly Shonen Jump, a weekly manga magazine that publishes the said manga.

Considering that the manga is still not finished, the book does not contain the complete story of One Piece. However, Oda himself has stated in the past that he feels that his Shonen tale probably has three years left before it actually ends.

The book is available for purchase on JBE Books for 1,900 Euros or about Php 109,462. However, as of the time of writing, it is now sold out as only 50 copies were printed for sale.
