Julia Barretto is making her big screen comeback with ‘Expensive Candy’

“Ang mahal mong mahalin,” Toto says to Candy. (You’re so expensive to love.)

This is just one of the lines that drew the viewers’ attention to the upcoming movie by Julia Barretto and Carlo Aquino.

On August 20, Viva Films posted the full trailer for Expensive Candy, a sexy romance film under the direction of JP Laxamana.

Barretto is finally making a comeback with the sexiest role she has portrayed up to this point. The 25-year-old actress breathes life into the titular character, Candy, a sex worker. She meets her love interest, Toto, played by Carlo Aquino, a virgin teacher who became her client and later developed feelings towards her. From there, their complicated love story unfolds.

Before the film’s trailer release, Baretto took to Instagram some teaser photos taken by photographer Andrea Beldua.

She is seen channeling a sexy leopard print lingerie as she introduces her character.

“Hello? It’s Candy. I’m coming soon,” the actress wrote.

The film serves as Barretto’s comeback movie as she was last spotted in the 2020 zombie-thriller film, Block Z.

Expensive Candy is set to premiere in cinemas on September 14.
