BLACKPINK will be the first female K-Pop act to perform at 2022’s VMAs

BLACKPINK will always be relevant no matter what the occasion is.

On August 15, 2022, it was announced that BLACKPINK will be part of the performance lineup for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. This marks the quartet’s U.S. music award show debut, and their first U.S. performance of their pre-release single, “Pink Venom”. BLACKPINK is also the fifth girl group overall to perform at the esteemed awards show, following the footsteps of TLC, Spice Girls, The Pussycat Dolls, and Fifth Harmony.

BLACKPINK will be joining artists like Anitta, J Balvin, Marshmello x Kahlid, Panic! At the Disco, Lizzo, Jack Harlow, and Måneskin in the VMA performance lineup.

Back in 2020, BLACKPINK made history as the first K-Pop girl group to win a VMA for winning the “Song of the Summer” with their hit song “How You Like That”. This year, the girl group was nominated for the “Best Metaverse Performance” category for their PUBG Collaboration, and member Lisa was nominated as a solo artist for “Best K-Pop” with her debut song “LALISA”.

The 2022 MTV Music Video Awards will air on August 29, 2022, at 9 A.M. KST.

Having always been proud of their favorites and the opportunities that come their way, BLINKs took the chance to express their pride and support for BLACKPINK all over social media. With BLACKPINK’s comeback so soon, it’s obvious that the girls are here to slay the house down, BLINKs are deceased.

BLACKPINK’s comeback era has never been this big. Can’t wait to hear their newest song “Pink Venom” and see their performance on August 29, 2022!
