Just soon after the finale episode of the South Korean reality competition show, Queendom 2, 4 of the six participating contestants announced their comeback dates for the summer. On June 3, 2022, Hyolyn, WJSN, LOONA, and Kep1er, along with their agencies, officially announced their comeback plans.
Hyolyn first made her plans known through her self-started agency brid3, stating that “In keeping with her title as the original summer queen, Hyolyn will be making her first summer return in about two years. What she’s preparing will go beyond the performances she showed on Queendom 2, so please give her lots of interest and encouragement.” Hyolyn will be releasing her brand-new album in July 2022.
After being declared the winner of Queendom 2, WJSN announced that they will be making their highly anticipated comeback on July 5, 2022, at 6 P.M. KST. Their post did not reveal any other official details, aside from a teaser poster and the date with the hashtag “#COMING_SOON💦💙”.

LOONA also announced the release of their special summer EP, “Flip That”, with a trailer titled “The Journey”. The short clip ended with the release date of June 20, 2022, at 6 P.M. KST being revealed.

Back in May 2022, Swing Entertainment and Wake One Entertainment confirmed that Kep1er would be making their first-ever comeback in June, and the date of their new release was finally revealed. Their second mini-album, “DOUBLAST” is slated for release on June 20, 2022, at 6 P.M. KST, and was announced earlier with a teaser photo and the caption, “A NEW BLAST is coming. What BLAST will it be?”

Expectations are high just soon after the end of Queendom 2.
