MANILA, Philippines – Cute fur babies in environment-friendly costumes? It’s a yes!
Some fur babies, together with their fur parents, showed off their most fashionable styles using sustainable materials in the 2022 Mr. and Miss Fur Earth Pet Pageant held last May 1 at Unimart Capitol Commons, Pasig City.
Dyoko, a Jack Russell Terrier, emerged as Mr. Fur Earth winner. His owner, Eton Bonifacio Concepcion, accepted the award in his behalf. The title for Miss Fur Earth went to a Chihuahua named Princess Sophie, who is owned by Mr. Gino Magbanua.
The fur parents displayed amazing craftsmanship in creating costumes for their fur babies, using items such as recycled plastic, tetra packs, and organic materials to dress up their lovable pets.
The runners up for Mr. and Miss Fur Earth are Tori (a Shitzu), and Freya (a Chihuahua), consecutively.
Other special awards given at the 2022 Mr. and Miss Fur Earth Pet Pageant were the Best Dressed Alike, Best Creative Costume, Best in Runway, and Darling of the Crowd. The winners received a variety of pet supplies from the event sponsors. More than 25 fur babies and fur parents participated in the event.
The event was organized by Unimart Capitol Commons in partnership with Catz Events Management and Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI).
