Bago Dumilim sa Labas tells a story as to how some people in the Philippines have dealt with COVID and what their stories are. Displaying the state of healthcare in the Philippines, and a perspective of how people of different social statuses deal with the new normal.
Written and produced by Sining LABinsiyam, a local theater company of Batch 119 from the Theater Arts Program in De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, the story follows two brothers who are at the most challenging time of their lives. With the pandemic bringing hardship on their household, how will they get through it?
The story shows how the pandemic caused the deterioration of people’s mental health and how it further proved the inadequacies of the country’s healthcare system.
It also gives an insight as to how different the situation of COVID is for the less fortunate. That not everyone has the same stories about the pandemic and how some have it harder than others. How the pandemic can affect a family’s relationship and how it can drastically change because of the pandemic, as well as how people in different aspects of life struggle financially and their hopes of being reunited with their family again.
See Pablo (Ethan Wong) and Juan (Michael Hilao) as they show a story of familial hardships, hope, and sacrifice.
Bago Dumilim sa Labas will be showing on April 6 to 13, 2022, from 11AM to 11PM. Tickets are at 150 PHP, available at Ticket2Me.net.
