NU Pep Squad bags five-peat in NCC NCR Qualifiers

For the fifth year in a row, the National University Pep Squad came out as the top finishers of the College Coed Cheer category of the National Cheerleading Championship (NCC) Season 12 NCR Qualifiers

Once again, familiar faces are on top of the National Capital Region cheerdance world.

For the fifth year in a row, the National University Pep Squad came out as the top finishers of the College Coed Cheer category of the National Cheerleading Championship (NCC) Season 12 NCR Qualifiers held last Sunday, January 31, at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

The reigning national champions wowed the crowd in attendance with their captivating stunts and choreography, on their way to earning 327 points from the panel of judges.

The University of Perpetual Help Dalta Altas Perpsquad, who executed a perfect routine (without deductions on errors), came in at second place with 315 points

The University of Perpetual Help Dalta Altas Perpsquad, who executed a perfect routine (without deductions on errors), came in at second place with 315 points. Rounding out the podium finishers were the Far Eastern University Cheering Squad with a score of 299.5 points.

With the sport’s steady surge in popularity, cheering aficionados can expect a much bigger competition in the National Finals happening on March 10-12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

During the 1st day of the NCR Qualifiers, it was the National Dance Championship that took the floor in the Mixed Hip Hop Division with Xavier School Dance X taking the 1st Place. They were followed by Marist High Impact and LSGH Air Force. All 3 teams will be part of the Nationals on March 10.
