Five unforgettable moments at WWE Live Manila that made the crowd go off their rockers

After seven years, World Wrestling Entertainment comes back to Manila, bringing with it their brand of sports and entertainment to the delight of their fans at the Mall of Asia Arena last Friday night, September 9.

Here are five of the most memorable moments that happened during WWE Live Manila:

5. “New Day rocks!”

The Raw Tag Team Champions, New Day, rocked the whole arena as they wrestled with The Shining Stars and Gallows and Anderson to defend their championship belt in a Triple Threat match. Dubbed as the longest tag team titlist in WWE history, New Day didn’t disappoint their fans as they gave one of the most entertaining matches that night that left the crowd bellowing: “New Day rocks!”

4. The very heated women’s wrestling match

The fight for the Raw Women’s Championship between Charlotte and Sasha Banks got so heated the crowd was screaming, “Women’s Wrestling!” all throughout the match. Though Sasha, who was the crowd’s favorite, fought hard to keep Charlotte pinned down, the latter still get to keep the belt.

3. The middle rope snapped in two

Fifteen-time World Champion, John Cena, was welcomed with a mix of “Let’s go Cena!” and “Cena sucks!” as he entered the arena to face his opponent, Big Show. With Big Show having the upper hand during the match, the rope snapping in two as he was about to deliver a splash gave Cena the chance for an Attitude Adjustment comeback, finishing the match.

2. “Let’s go, g*go!”

Chris Jericho’s spiel: “I am the greatest g*go of all time!” had the crowd roaring: “Let’s go, g*go!” as he wrestles with Roman Reigns. He almost got his opponent pinned down with his Walls of Jericho trademark finisher but Reigns managed to hold on to the rope. He was in turn speared down by Reigns, ending the match.

Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and defending WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens gave the crowd one amazing match they’re not likely to forget anytime soon. All three wrestlers delighted the crowd with their athleticism as they battled each other for the title belt. As the crowd cheered “Fight, Owens, fight!”, Owens emerged as the WWE Universal Champion. But before he could get out of the ring, Rollins and Zayn decided to kick his butt one more time in true heel fashion.
