From the artistic vibe of Cubao Ex to the sweet escape of The Dessert Museum, we Filipinos often find joy in trying out new and unusual activities in the metro. And this coming April, we have yet another experience to try out — Dinner in the Sky!
Founded in Belgium back in 2006, Dinner in the Sky takes guests to culinary heights, as they are literally hoisted 150 feet off the ground to dine with a bird’s-eye view of the city.
On April 4, Filipinos can bring their families and friends to try out this one-of-a-kind eating experience. But before you book a dinner reservation, here are some of the things you need to know first about Dinner in the Sky:
A selfie-worthy view of the Manila Bay sunset
During the press conference last March 21, MMI Live’s Chief Administrative Officer, Stephanie Omila said that they scoured different locations in the metro before choosing Solaire Resort and Casino as the venue for Dinner in the Sky.
According to Omila, it had the “perfect” view of the Manila Bay sunset — thereby, making it the ideal location for Dinner in the Sky and the quintessential spot for a sunset selfie!
Dinner includes four-course meals from multi-awarded chefs
Dinner in the Sky guests will be treated to four-course meals from multi-awarded chefs Hylton Le Roux, Alan Marchetti, Norimasa Kosaka, and Kenneth Cacho during their scheduled dinner session.
These renowned culinary experts will accompany guests, as their table is elevated from the ground. Guests will then get to choose between the regular set menu or the vegetarian menu prepared for them.
The chefs will also be the ones preparing and serving food to the guests while in the air. Solaire Resort and Casino Director for Food and Beverage, Robert Pupping tells the press that this is part of the company’s initiative to provide a culinary experience like no other.
“Dinner in the Sky is just the beginning, as we explore more avenues to give our guests culinary ingenuity at its finest,” Pupping explains.
The safety precautions meet international standards
With the lengthy distance between the dining table and the ground, a lot of you may wonder about the activity’s level of safety. But don’t worry, Dinner in the Sky Asia COO Tommy Lee assures everyone that the event is safe and there have been “zero incidents” since they’ve been operating.
Dinner in the Sky observes international safety measures to an utmost level. Guests are secured with safety belts and are briefed with the safety regulations prior to taking off.
However, CEO of Dinner in the Sky Asia Arvin Randahwa suggests that guests would dress for comfort during their dinner session and that they should avoid bringing large camera equipment. This to ensure the safety of your belongings whilst on air.
Guests should also note that the table can accommodate 22 people per session and only individuals over the age of 13 with a minimum height of 145 cm and a maximum weight of 150 kg can participate in Dinner in the Sky.
Dinner in the Sky Philippines starts at 9, 990 PHP
Finally, guests should know that reservations can only be done on the Dinner in the Sky website and the price for this unique dining experience starts at 9,990 PHP.
Dinner in the Sky Philippines will open to guests starting April 4.
