Four years after the Teen Wolf’s series finale in 2017, the pack is back together and ready to howl in Teen Wolf The Movie.
On February 16, Teen Wolf’s official Twitter account announced that the original cast of the series will reunite for the highly-anticipated Teen Wolf The Movie. The revival film will see the return of Tyler Posey who is reprising his role as Scott McCall.
The pack is forming for the #TeenWolfMovie! @tylergposey, @hollandroden, @shelleyhennig, @crystalmreed, @Ornyadams, @lindenashby, @iamjrbourne, @seth_gilliam, @coltonlhaynes, @the_ryan_kelley, @melissaponzio1 and @dsprayberry are back… with more names to come 🐺 pic.twitter.com/dxF7UFz8wB

Aside from Posey, Teen Wolf The Movie’s cast also includes some of the series regular and recurring characters, as per Variety. Joining Posey are Holland Roden as Lydia Martin, Shelley Hennig as Malia Tate, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Orny Adams as Coach Bobby Finstock, Linden Ashby as Sheriff Noah Stilinski, Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore, Dylan Sprayberry as Liam Dunbar, J.R. Bourne as Chris Argent, Seth Gilliam as Dr. Alan Deaton, Ryan Kelley as Deputy Jordan Parrish, and Melissa Ponzio as Melissa McCall.
Meanwhile, fans noticed that some notable key players are missing from the list, namely Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho, and Tyler Hoechlin who portrayed Stiles Stilinski, Kira Yukimira, and Derek Hale, respectively.
According to Deadline, both O’Brien and Cho are not returning for the film. Hoechlin, on the other hand, is not currently attached to the film but this can still be changed as “his status appears to be in flux.”
Due to this, Teen Wolf fans took to Twitter their reactions to the cast members.
Many Twitter users expressed that they wanted Stiles, O’Brien’s character, to come back, and saw no point in watching it if he did not return.
then i said it wanted teen wolf back i actually meant i want stiles stilinski back pic.twitter.com/kfFLnq9ltp

Not sure how I feel about Teen Wolf: The Movie going ahead without Dylan O’Brien.
Stiles Stilinski was the heart of the show and season 6B really struggled without him. 🥺😔 pic.twitter.com/Ay5n9D5xYd

There’s really no point in making this movie when the most beloved character on the show isn’t even going to be in it. #TeenWolf pic.twitter.com/Zt1a6FHNsS

Other Teen Wolf fans also vented out their frustrations at the management’s treatment of Cho. Deadline reported that Cho, one of the regular cast members in the series, was “offered half the salary presented to her three counterparts,” which led her to decide not to return.
Because of this, fans called out Teen Wolf, accusing the crew of being racist.
How is Arden Cho gonna get half the salary of the other white girls when Shelley Henig came in after her and Crystal Reed's character is dead!? pic.twitter.com/6SamFOB2h9

arden cho was not only one of the best actors on set, but played a character with so much potential and substance–only to be cheated by jeff in the end. i know im not the only person who remembers the promised kira spin-off after they lackadaisically wrote her character off. https://t.co/KIbZpadYPc

The showrunners for Teen Wolf stay finding ways to be incredibly disrespectful to Arden Cho. Literally kept cutting her scenes, completely gave up on her character and now you want to bring her back for half the pay??? Honestly what the fuck. Glad she denied. https://t.co/s5I6VyywZN

Teen Wolf The Movie will take place in Beacon Hills where “a full moon has risen” and a terrifying evil has emerged.
The film’s official synopsis reads, “The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a werewolf-like Scott McCall (Posey), no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.”
Teen Wolf The Movie was first announced by the show’s creator Jeff Davis in September 2021. The film will pick up after Teen Wolf the series, which follows the story of Scott defending his town from supernatural creatures and dangers.
