NCT’s Mark sings about his reflections in first solo single ‘Child’

“I’m a child. I can’t be the person you want,” NCT’s Mark sings in his first solo track “Child.”

The NCT member finally dropped his very first solo track, and Markfs (Mark’s solo fans) could not be more happy and proud of him.

On February 4, 2022 at 6 P.M. KST, SM Entertainment and the NCT member dropped his solo single, “Child”, as well as the track’s music video, on SM STATION’s social media accounts. Aside from being Mark’s first solo song, “Child” is also the first song to be included in SM STATION’s latest project, “NCT LAB”.

“NCT LAB” is a project allowing the NCT members to release their own songs, as solo artists or as a unit.

“Child” sees Mark’s participation in the song’s composition and lyrics, in which he explored his reflections on himself, his debut at a young age, and his emotions during that time. The track is a “hip-hop song with a unique bass synth and electric guitar sounds”.

NCTzens and Markfs have been greatly anticipating the NCT member’s solo release way before it had even been announced, as Mark is known to be open about releasing his own music for a long while now. Once it had been released, well, “proud” is just one way to put their emotions into words.

We’re beyond proud of you, Mark! Thank you for sharing your emotions with all of your fans, and we can’t wait for more of your and the other NCT members’ solo/unit tracks!
