Powfu drops melancholy and vulnerable new song ‘The long way home’

Columbia Records’ lo-fi hit-maker Powfu has released his emotional new single “the long way home” today. The song features rising Nashville-based singer/songwriter Sara Kays, along with lo-fi peer and frequent collaborator Sarcastic Sounds. Watch the visualizer HERE. Featuring very vivid and honest lyrics over an acoustic guitar soundscape, the vulnerable track finds all three artists coming together to tell the story of a hostile home life. Powfu notes the song is “for all the people that are going through something and feel like they have nobody to talk to.”

“the long way home” marks the first release from Powfu’s just-announced upcoming EP, which will release on June 4.

The song follows Powfu’s last track “the way that you see me” and his 8-track EP, some boring love stories pt. 5, in November 2020. The EP showcased Powfu’s evolving sonic palate and the relatable storytelling of his lyrics, and it rounded out an incredible 2020 for Powfu. His massive double Platinum hit song “death bed (coffee for your head)” captured the masses with over 2 Billion worldwide streams. The addictive hit song blasted Powfu to the forefront of the music scene this year, positioning him as one of the main pioneers bringing the lo-fi genre to the mainstream.

Stay tuned for more from Powfu very soon.
