Intel converts “I’m a Mac” actor Justin Long to switch to PC

Intel has given us an unexpected throwback from the 2000s in a new ad with the “I’m a Mac” guy as a changed man.

It seems like they’ve converted actor Justin Long into a die-hard PC user. Nearly two decades ago, he was an ambassador for Mac computers in Apple’s iconic “Get a Mac” commercials. Now, Intel has convinced him to switch over to their side. The company recently released a series of ads where Long details the benefits of having an Intel-based PC.

One ad mocks Mac for their limited options. “All the shapes. All the sizes. All the colors, textures, and features. There’s no holding you back when you Go PC.”

The clips take obvious jabs at the 2002 Apple commercials. It begins the same way with Justin Long in front of a plain white background. However, he doesn’t introduce himself as a product unlike the original ad. “Hello, I’m a  Justin. Just a real person doing a real comparison between Mac and PC.” He then goes on to demonstrate the Intel laptops in action.

In his previous stint as the “I’m a Mac” guy, Long stars opposite John Hodgman as personified computers. While they were fun to watch, the commercials failed to actually highlight the products themselves.
