Husky “Guard Dog” sleeps peacefully during a staged robbery

March 10th, 2021

Dogs are known as man’s best friend, always on duty to protect you. However, this Siberian Husky showed that they don’t exactly make the best guard dogs.

An owner of a jewelry shop in Chang Ma, Thailand arranged a simulation to find out if his shop is secure. Working with the Thai police, they wanted to know what would happen if a thief came into the store. His Siberian husky named ‘Lucky’ was there when he set up the staged robbery.

He thought that Lucky would be on high alert if someone threatened the store. A police officer posed as a robber with a fake gun, and went to the counter to steal a bag of fake money. While the owner expected his husky to take action, the man was left unharmed. Apparently, Lucky was asleep all throughout the security test. He didn’t move even an inch.

The owner uploaded the CCTV footage and went viral, gaining 1 million views within just 3 days.

Huskies are known to be quite protective of their owners. Yet, others say that they are not good guard dogs because of their friendly nature towards strangers. The owner explained that the man in the staged robbery is a Thai policeman that Lucky knew, so it could be the reason he didn’t attack the man since he was already familiar with the scent.

Lucky is an adopted dog and has been with him for 7 years now.
